Centre for Green Energy Technology (CGET)

Unlike traditional sectors, the green energy sector has been characterised by aggressive reductions in costs and rapid improvements in performance. Hence, investment in a robust innovation infrastructure is critical to ensure competitiveness and protection against geo-political headwinds.

The CGET is testament to L&T’s Technology focus and commitment to developing next generation technologies indigenously for commercial applications. The centre will ensure competitiveness via continuous innovation and developing breakthrough technologies in close collaboration with world-class component suppliers.

Collaboration with Academia

L&T collaborates with Indian and global research labs to develop cutting edge solutions for the green energy sector. As part of this initiative, L&T signed an agreement with the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, the nation’s premier technology and research institution in 2021 to jointly pursue research and development work in the Green Hydrogen value chain.  As part of this agreement a joint research lab named “L&T IIT-B H2 Innovation lab” is set-up in IIT-Bombay campus to leverage the research ecosystem and characterisation facilities in the campus.
